Organizational Design for Organizational Success
Core Advisory & Transformation Services
This is the center of Clarity. Everything else we offer (coaching, sprints, facilitation, assessments) grows out of this core: helping organizations define purpose, design adaptive structures, lead change, and build the internal capability to sustain impact.
We partner when the opportunity (or challenge) is complex, multistakeholder, and requires both authority and influence to move. Our role is to bring structure without rigidity, translate strategy into executable focus, and surface the human dynamics that either accelerate or stall progress.
What We Help You Do
- Clarify purpose, identity, and strategic direction.
- Translate strategy into clear, cascading goals and operating rhythms.
- Design or refine organizational structure, roles, and decision pathways.
- Lead transformational change (culture, systems, service models, mergers, technology adoption).
- Build coalitions and align diverse stakeholders around a shared narrative.
- Reimagine value propositions and future scenarios when the environment shifts.
- Embed inclusive practices so power dynamics, exclusion, and group think do not suppress better ideas.
- Build internal capability so momentum continues after we step back.
Why Clients Choose Clarity
- We integrate strategy, design, and people dynamics into one cohesive approach.
- We create momentum without burning out staff or flooding calendars with meetings.
- We balance rigor with practicality: enough structure to scale, enough flexibility to adapt.
- We speak plainly and act as thought partners who can challenge constructively.
- We leave teams stronger, more aligned, and better equipped to navigate what comes next.
Getting Started
We begin with a discovery conversation: understand context, aims, constraints, success signals, and stakeholders. You receive a concise approach outline with scope, phases, team composition, and fixed (or not to exceed) pricing. From there we cocreate a detailed work plan and launch quickly to capture early momentum.
Strategy, Purpose & Direction
Organizations need clarity of purpose and a living strategy before they can achieve meaningful results. Markets, policy landscapes, and stakeholder expectations shift quickly; static plans expire. We help you frame (or refresh) purpose, mission, values, positioning, and strategic themes in language people actually use. Then we translate that into a onepage strategic architecture that can be cascaded through teams, guiding daily prioritization and resource tradeoffs.
Our approach balances aspiration with realism: identify fewer, sharper priorities; define measurable outcomes; and set review cadences that allow adaptation without whiplash. In downturns we help recalibrate for resilience. As conditions improve we position you to activate pentup investment energy responsibly and meet your clients or customers where they are.
Organizational Design
Change & Transformation
Transformational change is not a linear checklist. We integrate proven methods (Prosci peopleside change practices, systems thinking for leverage points, appreciative inquiry to amplify strengths, liberating structures to broaden voice) into a practical roadmap. We help you:
- Build the coalition (sponsors, champions, influencers) needed to lead and reinforce change.
- Map the system to see interdependencies and identify leverage points (often nonobvious).
- Prototype to learn fast and derisk early.
- Craft strategic narratives and proxy indicators that communicate progress before lagging metrics move.
- Build internal capacity (skills, routines, peer learning) so the change sustains.
Strategic Narratives & Foresight
Sometimes progress depends on telling a better story about what is possible. Using scenario exploration, visioning, and disciplined imagination we help teams articulate future states that energize stakeholders and provide directional guardrails for near term decisions. These narratives become a shared touchstone for alignment, onboarding, fundraising, and communication.
Inclusive Collaboration & Culture
Capability & Leadership Development
How We Work (Principles)
1. Cocreation over handoff.
2. Evidence over assumption.
3. Plain language.
4. Rightsizing.
5. Inclusion as performance lever.
Diverse perspectives are intentionally designed into decisions.
6. Momentum stewardship.
Typical Engagement Shapes
While every engagement is tailored, common shapes include:
- Strategy Refresh (6–10 weeks) – discovery, stakeholder input, strategic framing sessions, onepage architecture, cascading toolkit, launch plan.
- Operating Model Redesign (10–16 weeks) – current state diagnostic, roles/decision mapping, design options, validation labs, implementation roadmap with change supports.
- Transformation Readiness & Roadmap (8–12 weeks) – system mapping, capability assessment, case for change narrative, prioritized initiative portfolio, sequencing and metrics.
- Change Acceleration Support (retainer) – ongoing advisory, sponsor coaching, progress reviews, risk mitigation microsprints, communications drafting.
- Strategic Narrative Development (4–6 weeks) – interviews, future state scenario workshops, narrative drafting, artifact kit (presentation, onepager, FAQ), activation plan.
Durations flex based on scale, availability, and depth of stakeholder engagement.
Example Deliverables
A selection of tangible outputs you might receive:
- Onepage strategic architecture (purpose, themes, goals, metrics).
- Strategic narrative storyboards and launch language.
- Organizational design option set with implications analysis.
- Decision rights matrix and governance cadence map.
- Change roadmap (milestones, ownership, indicators, risks, mitigations).
- Stakeholder and system maps (influence, impact, engagement strategy).
- Prototype concepts (service blueprints, process maps, role charters).
- Capability development toolkit (workshop materials, templates, job aids).
- Progress dashboard starter with lead/lag indicators.
All artifacts are built for immediate internal use and adaptation.
